Comments

Workspace members and guests can use comments to communicate directly on their projects.

Project visitors cannot view or create comments.

Whenever a comment is added to a project, the following users receive an email notification:

  • The workspace's Owners, Editors, and Commenters
  • The project's Owners, Editors, and Commenters

Users can disable these notifications in the comment settings.

Creating comments

To create a comment, do either of the following:

  • Right-click an empty area of the current board and select Create Comment from the menu.
  • Drag and drop the New comment icon (located at the bottom menu) onto an empty area of the board.

Type your message and post it.

Creating a comment also places a comment pin on the board, marking the location of the comment thread.

Selecting comments

Comment pins behave like other board entities: they can be selected and moved freely. Clicking a comment pin selects the comment and also expands the full thread.

To select multiple comment pins, hold Shift or Ctrl/Cmd and either:

  • Click each comment pin one by one.
  • Click and drag to draw a selection box.

Moving comments

To move a comment, either:

  • Drag the comment with your mouse.
  • Select, cut, and paste the comment elsewhere, using the shortcuts Ctrl+X and Ctrl+V.

Resolving comments

To mark a comment thread as resolved, click the (checkmark icon) at the top right of the comment.

By default, pins of resolved threads are hidden. You can show or hide them using the comment settings in the sidebar.

Deleting comments

To delete a comment, you must delete its pin. You can:

  1. Select the pin and press Delete or Backspace.
  2. Right-click the pin and select Delete from the context menu.

✅ If a comment is no longer relevant, consider resolving it instead of deleting it. Resolved comments remain in the project and can be reopened at any time.

Comment sidebar

Click the Comment icon in the top-right menu to open the comment sidebar. This panel displays all project comments in one place.

Clicking on a comment from the sidebar scrolls the board to its corresponding pin and opens the thread.

Comment settings

To manage comment visibility and notifications, click the Comment settings icon at the top right of the comment sidebar.

Show resolved comments

Enable this option to display resolved comments and their pins both in the workspace and in the sidebar. (Disabled by default.)

Receive email notifications

Disable this option to stop receiving comment-related email notifications for this project. Notifications include new comments and resolution updates. (Enabled by default.)
