Workspaces

Up to this point, this documentation has covered the structure of a project and the tools used to build and manage it. This section introduces the broader framework through which teams organize their work and collaborate on shared projects: the workspace.

What workspaces are

A workspace serves as a collaborative environment where users can create, manage, and share projects with their team.

Users can create multiple workspaces, invite members, and assign them specific roles. These roles determine the level of access and permissions members have within the workspace, including control over its projects and configuration.

Each workspace operates independently and maintains its own set of projects, members, settings, billing information, and API keys.

Workspace comparison

There are three workspace plans in Arcweave: Basic, Pro, and Team. A single user account can be associated with any number or combination of these workspace plans.

While all workspace types offer core collaboration features, there are important differences in project limits, item capacity, and billing behavior:

FeatureBasicProTeam
Unlimited members:✅ Available✅ Available✅ Available
Project limits:⚠️ Up to 3 projects✅ Unlimited✅ Unlimited
Item limits:⚠️ Up to 200 items✅ Unlimited✅ Unlimited
Web API access:❌ Not available❌ Not available✅ Available
Custom roles:❌ Not available❌ Not available✅ Available

Along with the table above, consider the following information:

  • Unlimited members:
    • In Basic workspaces, members can be added at no cost.
    • In Pro and Team workspaces, adding or removing members affects billing. See the guide on managing your subscriptions in this documentation's Introduction.
  • Project limits: If a Pro or Team workspace is downgraded to Basic, it keeps all existing projects, but cannot add new ones if the limit is exceeded.
  • Item limits:

These differences are designed to help individuals and teams scale their use of Arcweave, from lightweight solo work to complex multi-member collaboration, without sacrificing flexibility or continuity.

Workspace sections

Each workspace includes the following sections:

  • Projects: View and manage all projects within the workspace.
  • People: Manage members, guests, and invitations to join the workspace.
  • Roles: See available roles and their permissions. Team workspaces can create custom roles.
  • Settings: Configure the workspace's name, icon, billing email, and options to upgrade or delete it.
  • Billing: Set up invoicing, review billing history, and monitor detailed usage.
  • API: Access and manage the workspace's API keys for external integrations.

Note: Some of the above sections may be hidden from non-owners of the workspace.

In addition, the workspace list (located at the top left of the workspace window) lets you switch between your workspaces or create new ones.
