Mouse actions

Arcweave is designed for mouse-driven interaction. Aside from text entry, all actions in a project can be performed with the mouse.

✅ For efficiency, Arcweave also provides keyboard shortcuts; especially useful to avoid unnecessary back-and-forth between keyboard and mouse.

The following desktop mouse actions let you create and edit items or move around the board. See Select board items for selection controls. On touch devices, dragging empty board space pans the board.

Right-click empty board area	Open the board menu: Create items, Paste or Paste as jumper at that point, or open Board Properties

Creating and editing board items, except comments, requires the Edit projects permission. Users without it pan the board by dragging it, in either cursor mode.

Item context menus include Copy, which copies the selected items like Ctrl/Cmd + C. To paste them where you right-clicked, choose Paste in the empty board area's menu.

To share an element, connection, branch, jumper, or note, select that item alone, right-click it, and choose Copy link. See Share an item or board position for all supported menu locations and access requirements.

Select board items

The same selection controls apply to elements, connections, branches, jumpers, notes, and comment pins. You can include different item types in the same selection.

Click an item to replace the current selection with that item. To select multiple items one at a time, hold Shift or Ctrl/Cmd while clicking each one. Clicking an already selected item with one of these keys removes it from the selection.

To select items with a rectangle, switch to Select mode, then click and drag from empty board space. The rectangle selects every item it touches, even partially:
